Sara has been a stylist for 20 years. At the age of 18 she started an apprenticeship with Tony & Guy in Clarendon St, Dublin. Working by day and training in the evening, she qualified with distinctions a year ahead of schedule, in just three years instead of the usual four. With Tony & Guy she trained in both colour and cutting, specialising in cutting, and worked in their Malahide salon for two years.
She moved to Boyle to be with her then boyfriend (now husband!) and opened her own salon which she ran for five good years. She went on to work in salons in both Carrick and Boyle before joining Laila’s team 18 months ago.
Her main focus is colour cutting and fashion. While originally specialising in cutting, she has since done extensive retraining to master colour theory, undertone and understand why hair colour changes. She has taken numerous courses over the years with Wella, L’Oreal, Schwarzkopf, Revlon, Label M, Tigi, Moroccan Oil, Matrix and Kevin Murphy and more.
She is a firm believer in what she was taught – that a good consultation is the key to good service and she understands the importance of asking the right questions of the client in order to achieve the right result.
“My motto is ‘Care for the hair as we care for you’. If I give you great hair it's because I care for you. If you care for me I will care for you!” - Sara
